Eowyn's Circlet

Quick Index

Pictures

Formal gold crown. 3-D band of golden 5-point flowers with small lapis centers
Blurry shot of the crown, FIDM 2003.  Small gold earrings can be seen as well.
Basic sketch of the front detail on the crown.  Earrings would be the same as the side flowers.  They are a bit 3-D in shape with a crease in the center of each petal.  (Idril)
Shots from FIDM, 2004

Note that there is an extra gold swirl mixed in the twisted wire and flowers.  The center flower, is dead center.

Image Detail

    Center towards Right

Positioning is extremely accurate to photos.  Right down to the alternating positioning of the flowers (point up, point down, etc.) and which twisted wire is in front of the other on the base weave.

Actual wire pattern

A (purple sections) - thicker, solid pieces

B (blue dots) - positions of flowers (first one from right should be center front, larger third one should be near temple)

C (red lines) - twisted wire woven together

D (green line) - twisted wire woven individually

All positioning is fairly accurate to photos, the exception being the back.  I believe that’s really close to right, but the way it ends is improvised
