The Hobbit Costumes
"The Hobbit" movie is coming! The artwork and costumes will be here
soon. While we wait, we've re-read J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Hobbit".
We can imagine the clothing of the Hobbits & Eves & Dwarves &
Dragons &
Trolls... and let's not forget Gollumn & the ring. This is a beloved story
retold in song and animation. Soon, it will be told in movie form too.
In the Middle of the Earth in the land of the Shire lived
a brave little Hobbit whom we all admire.
With his long wooden pipe, fuzzy woolly toes, he lives in a Hobbit hole and
everyone knows him.
Now Hobbits are a peace loving folks you know. They
don't like to hurry and they take things slow.
They don't like to travel away from home. They just want to eat and be
left alone.
But one day Bilbo was asked to go on a big adventure to
the caves below
To help some Dwarves get back their gold that was stolen by a dragon in the
days of old. ...
He fought with the Goblins! He battled a Troll!
A magic ring he stole! ...
Bilbo Baggins, the bravest
little Hobbit of them all!

The Hobbit Book
The folks over at
The Red Backed
Book yahoo group have gone though The Hobbit cover to cover and dug up
all the visual costume tidbits that J.R.R. Tolkien shares with the
reader. These are just small references. He has you use your
imagination to create the whole magical world in your mind.

The Hobbit Movie
Peter Jackson and Weta, the team we fell in love with for Lord of the
Rings, will once again bring Tolkien's enchanted vision to the screen in the
prequel Hobbit movies. As we get images and information we will merge
it into our main Character section.
